SALTY BREAKFAST OR BRUNCH?

The brunch and the savory breakfast are almost the same thing and are part of the Italian tradition for some time, even if only once a year: the day of the Resurrection. A fasting of Lent fast, very symbolic and full of sweet and savory dishes: hard-boiled eggs, omelettes with spring vegetables, bakery products of various kinds, salami, broad beans and cheeses especially of sheep.

Breakfast is the moment when our body and brain are activated and begin to face the day not only on Easter morning, perhaps we should support them with something more nutritious than a cup of milk, coffee, tea or cappuccino. How about pampering yourself all year?

As you will imagine I will interpret this moment in my own way, I propose simple recipes that can be prepared in advance and are not only suitable for breakfast, but also for a brunch, a practical outdoor lunch or a picnic.

Let’s start with drinks:

INFUSED APPLE CANNELLA

X 2 people: 600 g apples into small pieces, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 liter of water.

Pour all the ingredients into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and let it boil slowly for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from heat, strain and cool in the fridge.

(I recommend not to throw the filtered apples, they will be perfect in the dough of cakes, muffins, omelettes, pancakes and more).

CENTRIFUGE FENNEL AND PEAR

X 4 people: 1.2 kg fennels, 800 g pears, juice of 1 lemon

Cut the pears into cubes, centrifuge and add the lemon juice to prevent the centrifuge from oxidizing. Centrifuge also the diced fennel. Pour the two juices into a carafe.

BANANA MILK AND DATES

X 4 people: 400 ml of vegetable milk, 50 g of dates without stone, 2 sliced bananas

Liquidize all the ingredients

COFFEE MILK AND CANNELLA

X 4 people: 440 ml of vegetable milk, 2 sliced bananas, 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa, 1 teaspoon of instant coffee,1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Milk the bananas and the soluble coffee.

Pour into glasses and sprinkle with cocoa and cinnamon.

MILK AND CARRUBE

X 4 people: 750 ml vegetable milk, 4 bananas, 1 vanilla spoon, 1 tablespoon carob powder

Liquidize all the ingredients together.

CHOCOLATE MILK AND PEANUTS

X 4 people: 500 ml vegetable milk, 60 g 100% unsweetened peanut cream, 2 bananas, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa.

Liquidize all the ingredients together.

DISSETING GREEN APPLE AND LEMON

X 2 people: 80 ml lemon juice, 6 green apples.

Centrifuge the apples, add the lemon juice.

CENTRIFUGE CELERY CAROTA

X 4 people: 1.6 kg carrots,  600 g of celery steaks, 80 g fresh ginger, 2 lemons

Centrifuge carrots, celery and ginger and add lemon juice.

Choose from these appetizing savory preparations:

Garbanzo focacciafocaccia to the asparagisalted pancakes small buns of konjac and vegetables waffles of red lentils brioches salted integralcake of potatoes –  little quick bread of carrot and sunflower seeds

For a full breakfast add to my proposals: lots of nice fresh fruit or vegetables, nuts or, cheese or eggs, or cooked or raw ham, fresh or smoked fish.
